Quote from No.2 Local AFK on May 14, 2020, 1:10 PMI thought to create this list to hopefully help players get more knowledge about how the game can be played to be a better player and rank up. Please feel free to share your own and I will include them here.
- If you are the offlaner, try to constantly attempt cutting lanes especially in the beginning. With the current meta leaning towards jungle invasion, it is really important you get that level 2 faster than anyone else so you can deter the attempt of enemy team to jungle invade. Silvanna is the best fighter that can pull this off in the current meta. Thamuz comes second.
- If you are the tank, stop the enemy offlaner from lane cutting. Stay in the bush where the crammer spawns until at 24 second mark. This is the moment where you can get first blood. If your MM is smart, he will come with you. If you are Grock with Flameshot, you can easily kill the offlaner who attempts to do this.
- If you pick Diggie, it's better to drop the bombs in the buff monsters than clear the lane. The objective is to help clear the buff ASAP to waste the time of enemy team attempting to jungle invade.
- If you pick Khufra, prioritize upgrading your Skill 1 first. Do not jump unless you have your team around you and they are ready. Canceling Skill 1 has shorter cooldown so you can try faster again. Khufra is a tank of opportunity. Always look for this but do not feel compelled to just keep jumping.
- If you pick Grock, constantly bully the mid lane especially in the early game. Nana/Diggie's kit are useless against your Skill 1 and passive so take advantage of that. Popol's traps are also useless against you.
- If you are the tank, always be mobile that you can jump from bot lane to top lane in just a few seconds. Your presence in enemy ganks and team fight makes so much difference in your team's favour. This is why I prefer Grock over Khufra.
- If you find yourself on lowest gold/level, regardless of your role, always buy roam mask. You can sell this once you go up again. This is very important to keep the overall economy of your team moving.
- Make it a habit to check enemy gold/your team gold. Do not engage team fights if you are behind. Play safe if you are ahead.
- If you are the MM, farm wisely. Do not be a braindead/chill/AFK farming at bot. Look at the mini map. Your tank is sometimes needed elsewhere so you need to rely on yourself.
- When it comes to defending turrets, do not defend it if you go 1v2 unless you are Silvanna or Thamuz or heroes that can easily turn the tides in this scenario. Go somewhere else.
- The concept of opportunity cost is applicable in this game. No time is wasted unless you waste it doing nonproductive.
- If you cannot defend the turret, then don't bother. Go somewhere else to farm.
- If your teammate is caught out of position, do not be tempted to help. Save yourself and your team of the gold advantage that the enemy would have because you tried to help them MM/Mage in vain. You need to assess this based on your kits though. Can you save MM/Mage and you can escape? Flicker Chou Tank and Flicker Grock can definitely do this.
- ALWAYS and ALWAYS check the bush with your skills before coming in. I cannot overemphasize this.
- If you are an MM and you have a tank baby sitting you, always let him come in first. You follow him, not the other way around.
- If you are tank/support, NEVER clear a lane. You are needed somewhere else. I understand this is sometimes frustrating especially when this should be the MM/Offlaner's role but just because no one is doing it, does not mean you should.
- As much as possible, always clear both the jungle and lane. If can be done, take enemy jungle too. This game is bilateral. Whoever has the little advantage would win.
- When all you turrets are down and you can nothing but only defend, STAY AT BASE. There is no other hope you can win than wiping the enemy team out and push all the way. Tell your team to stay at base and hopefully enemy will be out of position.
